Sophie Bearman

Host and Producer

Sophie is the Director of Special Projects at The San Francisco Standard, where she dreams up new initiatives, including engaging podcasts. She was formerly the Director of Multimedia, leading the photo and video teams. A Columbia Journalism School graduate, Sophie co-created the investigative podcast series “Admissible: Shreds of Evidence,” diving into a controversial era of forensic science. She’s produced for Jigsaw Productions’ “Lies We Tell” and reported for WBUR’s “Last Seen.” Her video production chops were honed at CNBC and TheStreet.com. Sophie started her journalism journey at Harvard's student newspaper. When not working, she’s an avid hiker who conquered the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail in 2023, jamming to tunes the whole way.
